I'm so struck with how confident a little thing you were! Just busting forth with feeling yours was the best and would be chosen. It was so energetic of you, too, to include the old photos, which I love. Do keep digging and don't toss any of them out. You never know with new technology they might be someday identifiable.
Thanks for reading, Roz! It was less confidence, and more a desperate need for validation back then! 😂 You’re right. I haven’t thrown any photos out but am working hard to digitize them all which will make it a lot easier to access them.
The stories you shared about your life, in India and the US, was wonderful. I'm so glad you were willing to reveal those parts of you. I've known you for fourteen years and I'm embarrassed I hadn't taken the time to find out all those aspects of your life. I always knew you were a great writer, and as a critique partner you always offer the best suggestions to my my writing stronger. I look forward to exploring some of your archived posts as a subscription member.
Fourteen years! Gosh that’s amazing. And wonderful. ❤️❤️ Thanks so much for subscribing! I love your writing too and so glad you’re really getting back into it.
Nothing in the archives yet as this was my first post, but there should soon be plenty to explore. 🤞🏽🤞🏽I’m working on it. Did you get my last couple of emails to you?
Oh, that feeling “clearly I’m not imaginative enough to be a writer…look at this other brilliant person!” We’ve all had those moments. I’m glad you didn’t listen to that. Really loved seeing these pictures. Looking forward to next week’s installment!
Thanks so much, Chelsea! Yup, funny how we are so prone to imposter syndrome. But that incident kept me from even considering the notion of being a writer for decades! You could say I was particularly lacking in the self confidence department 😆
Hey Shashi! Thanks for reading. Do you remember this incident? Well, it was supposed to be anonymous. I don’t believe Shantatamma ever told us who it was. But I think we found out anyway, that it was probably Cara’s essay!
I really enjoyed reading this Rilla and can definitely relate to struggling with confidence as a writer!!! :)
Yeah, writing group buddy! Your words are golden 😘❤️
Love the travel through memory with words and pics.
Thanks so much, Kristine!

Rilla ,whose essay did she choose?

What a poignant tale. Clearly your teacher picked the wrong winner! Might this be your writer villain origin story? 😅
Ha! Only a true friend would say that! ❤️
